International Household Moving · USA to Singapore
Before you ship the sofa, check the floor plan.
A move to Singapore often means deciding what belongs in your next home before deciding how to ship it. Nobel Relocation helps you plan the inventory, pack your belongings and coordinate ocean or air shipping, customs arrangements and delivery.
You may be relocating for a regional role, moving with your family or returning to Singapore after years in the United States. Each situation calls for a different shipment. A furnished rental may leave little room for your furniture. An unfurnished home may make bringing your own beds, dining table and familiar belongings worthwhile.
Start with the tenancy details, room measurements and move-in date. We can then review what you plan to bring and build the shipping estimate around that inventory.
Measure large furniture against room layouts, doorways and lift dimensions. A piece that fits comfortably in your U.S. home may be difficult to deliver or place in your Singapore residence.
Ask management about delivery hours, service lift bookings, loading access, protective coverings and any deposits. These details should be reviewed before delivery is scheduled.
Travel with passports, immigration paperwork, medication and the belongings you need immediately. Keep enough with you for the period before your household shipment is delivered.
The right shipping method depends on how much you are taking, when you need it and what you are prepared to spend. We review those details before recommending a service.
For a larger move, we can assess a dedicated ocean container. The decision depends on the measured inventory, handling requirements and available routing.
Bringing selected furniture and personal belongings? Ask about less-than-container-load or shared-container options. Availability and departure timing must be confirmed for your origin and shipment.
Air freight may suit a smaller shipment needed sooner. We can compare it with your ocean plan so you can decide whether sending some belongings separately makes sense.
We coordinate export packing, the shipment inventory and agreed destination services. Tell us about fragile furniture, artwork and items that may need a crate during the survey, rather than on packing day.
Compare My Shipping OptionsMoving your own used belongings does not automatically make the shipment tax free. Singapore Customs may grant GST relief when you transfer your residence and meet its conditions.
These include owning the goods, having used and possessed them for at least three months, importing them within six months of your first arrival, and not selling, giving away or disposing of them within three months after arrival.
Your document checklist depends on your status. It can include your passport or NRIC, proof of relocation, relevant pass or approval documents, shipping documents and the shipment inventory. Returning Singaporeans and foreign nationals should confirm the requirements that apply to them.
Identify alcohol, tobacco, vehicles and any potentially controlled items separately during planning. Do not assume they can be treated like ordinary used furniture.
Official guidance: Singapore Customs GST relief eligibility y sending unaccompanied household goods . Customs determines eligibility. Confirm current requirements for your status and shipment before departure.
Tell us the actual delivery address as soon as you have it, whether you are moving to Tanglin, River Valley, Holland Village, Bukit Timah, the East Coast or another part of Singapore.
The neighborhood alone does not determine delivery requirements. The property type, vehicle access, lift size and building rules are what the destination team needs to plan the job.
If your lease starts after your shipment is expected to arrive, ask about storage before the move is booked. Port storage and planned household storage are different charges.
The estimate starts with the volume of belongings and your U.S. pickup address. Shipping method, export packing, crating, destination access and storage can all affect the total.
Ask for a written breakdown showing the included destination services and any exclusions. Customs inspections, taxes, port charges, storage and difficult access should be addressed clearly.
Timing needs to cover the whole move: packing, departure availability, transportation, clearance and the delivery appointment. A vessel transit estimate is only one part of that schedule.
Nobel Relocation coordinates international household moves from all 50 states. Our teams in Miami and South Florida , Atlanta y Maryland and Washington, DC support our U.S. moving operations.
Moving from New York, New Jersey, California, Texas or another state? Share your pickup ZIP code so we can review origin services and export arrangements for your address.
After years overseas, deciding what to bring back can take longer than expected. Separate the belongings you are keeping from anything you plan to sell, donate or leave behind. That makes the survey more useful and avoids paying to ship items you no longer need.
The Singapore Global Network community directory lists Singaporean groups in the Americas, including New York, the New York/New Jersey/Philadelphia area, Florida and Chicago. It can be a useful place to find community connections while preparing to return home. These groups are independent of Nobel Relocation.
