International household moving · USA to Vietnam
Moving to Vietnam from the USA
A home in Hanoi and an apartment in Ho Chi Minh City can call for different furniture and delivery plans. Start with the address you expect to use, the pieces you want to keep and the dates you have in mind.
Nobel Relocation coordinates international household moves from across the United States. Discuss packing, shipping, documentation support and destination delivery arrangements for your specific shipment.
Start with the home you are moving into
Before sending a full household, ask whether the property is furnished and measure the rooms, doorways and building access. Share lift dimensions and move-in rules for an apartment, or photos of the unloading area for a house.
Photos and a room-by-room inventory give us a useful starting point. Include the pieces you are unsure about, not just the items already packed. We can discuss a survey, special handling and the information still needed for an estimate.
Returning to Vietnam or making a first move?
Have the household shipment reviewed separately from the belongings you carry on your flight. Passenger baggage guidance does not by itself confirm the treatment of an unaccompanied furniture shipment.
Tell us about an employer-funded move, family members traveling on different dates or temporary accommodation. Discuss any storage gap and later delivery before collection so the extra handling and cost are part of the plan.
Your U.S. origin
Send the actual pickup ZIP code, whether you are in California, Texas, New York or another state. The nearest port is not automatically the right route for the shipment.
Your inventory
List furniture, cartons and fragile pieces. Include photos of unusually large items and identify belongings needing special packing.
Your dates
Share preferred collection and travel dates, plus when the destination home will be ready. Ask for the complete pickup-to-delivery window.
Shipping household goods to Vietnam
A full household and a few selected pieces need different space and handling. Review the available options against your inventory and destination.
Dedicated ocean container
Consider it for a larger household, subject to the available route. Confirm packed volume, loading access and the destination delivery arrangements.
Shared-container or LCL
Ask whether a smaller shipment can use an available shared or LCL service. Review minimum charges, handling, consolidation timing and destination acceptance.
Air freight
Discuss whether a smaller selection can travel by air on an available route. Acceptance, packed dimensions, chargeable weight and the complete delivery schedule require review.
How long will it take? Ocean or air transit is only part of the timeline. Pickup, handling, document readiness, clearance and residential delivery all affect the estimate. Keep immediate necessities and important originals with you.
What does moving from the USA to Vietnam cost?
The price depends on shipment volume or chargeable weight, pickup location, packing, shipping method and final delivery requirements. An inventory or survey helps us assess the job instead of quoting a container before understanding the household.
Ask what is included at both ends: collection, export packing, freight, destination handling and residential delivery. Confirm how inspections, duties and taxes, storage, difficult access and additional carrying will be handled. Request unpacking, assembly and debris removal explicitly if you want them included.

Your arrival and residency circumstances should be reviewed before the shipment leaves the United States. Ask the destination team to confirm the documents and import acceptance for your inventory, including whether any used items or new purchases need separate review.
Request the current checklist for your own circumstances. Have identification, arrival details, inventory and transport paperwork reviewed before shipping. Flag food, plants, medicines, batteries and unusual goods before packing, and discuss vehicles and pets separately.
Official reference: Embassy of Vietnam entry and exit information. Confirm the requirements and charges that apply to your shipment with the destination representative.
From packing day to the final address
Before pickup
Agree the inventory, access, dates and service scope. Identify artwork, instruments and delicate furniture needing special protection during the survey.
Preparing the shipment
Review the agreed packing and protection options before moving day. Keep the inventory and shipment records accessible during your journey.
Receiving your belongings
Delivery follows customs release and confirmed destination arrangements. Keep the receiving contact available and review any building reservations in advance.
Where in Vietnam are you moving?
Give us the town even if the lease is not final. The exact property, vehicle access and carrying distance help determine the delivery plan.
Hanoi
Share the district, building and access arrangements, including parking and lift reservations.
Ho Chi Minh City
Provide the actual property location and any condominium move-in requirements before finalizing delivery.
Da Nang and other destinations
Ask us to confirm onward transport and coverage for the exact address. Include access photographs if the property is difficult to reach.
